1. There are four options for the "Tax Status" field:
        i. Taxable: The yearly interest earned by the account is taxed and paid at the end of each year. An example of an investment with this status is a personal savings account in a commercial bank.
ii. Tax-Free: No tax is ever paid on the money contributed or on any of the interest it earns. An example of an investment with this status is a Roth IRA.
iii. Tax-Deferred: No taxes are paid until withdrawal. However, upon withdrawal, the entire account, both the money contributed and all of interest it has earned, is taxed. An example of an investment with this status is a Traditional IRA.
iv. Interest Tax-Deferred: No taxes are paid until withdrawal. However, upon withdrawal, taxes are only paid on the interest accrued, not the money contributed. An example of an investment with this status is common stock.
2.  The additional monthly contributions used to cover the shortfall are assumed be placed into an investment which has a tax status of "Taxable" and rate of return equal to the "Rate of Return" field.
